Here we are for a third time around Pitches. I don’t know about you but there has been something special about these films for me. They are always a good time in the theater and they seem to grow every time I see them. This is something that could have easily gone stale with the 2 sequels, but the way they progress the characters works. They seemed to take what did not work in the second film and cut the fat out for the third film which brings us to a great ending to this set of films.
The Pitch Perfect films from the beginning have been simply a good time and a great way to escape and enjoy some music for a couple hours. I find that what keeps these films fun and entertaining is that they all have a great musical selection which everyone can enjoy. This third film puts a nice little bow on top of the package.
Anna Kendrick is just fun to watch as she interacts with all of these characters throughout this film. Her performance is well put together and you believe in this character every moment she is on screen because while the film does not take itself too seriously, you can tell that this project was fun for her and the rest of the cast.
The comedy is present throughout the whole film and is used in the right moments. While at times it can be over the top, it works for the film. In addition to the humor, there are themes throughout this film that we can all relate to it provides a good balance.
Pitch Perfect 3 is a great time in the theater. It’s worth the ticket price to go with your friends. It’s fun and it’s still fresh with the old characters we have enjoyed for the first two films. Cinema Wise gives Pitch Perfect 3 a 3.5 out of 5.
