Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was a movie that all kids (now adults) from the 90βs should have been looking forward to. It was the follow up to a movie that brought life back into the Jurassic Park franchise. Following the first Jurassic World, I was excited to see where they could take these new characters. Unfortunately, the story just seems to fall short of its potential.
The story is a very simple plot point throughout the film: Save the dinosaurs. This is then taken through twists and turns throughout the film and seems to be at times lost or overshadowed by smaller plot points that really do not deserve to take away from the main focus of the film. The film seems to lose or just forget great character moments which helped drive the first film in the new installment of this series.
Even though the story falls short, the cast does a great job bringing these characters to life.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard do an excellent job and are great to watch throughout the entire film. Their on-screen chemistry is a driving force in the film. When it comes to the new additions to the cast, some of these characters add to the story but some are just unnecessary. The dinosaurs are beautiful on screen and present a danger that make you jump out of your seat at certain times throughout the film.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom falls short in my hopes for where I thought we could be going but overall still a great time in the theater. It is a fun story to watch unfold and beautiful to watch on the screen. Cinema Wise gives Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom a 3 out of 5.
