Toy Story is the most solid franchise I think I have ever seen. They have had no misses. All four films have been really enjoyable and heartfelt. The fourth film is probably in contention for the number two slot on my list.
Toy Story 4 picks up right after the end scene of Toy Story 3 and we see how the gang is getting along with their new child in the film. The story takes a similar line to the first as it is dealing with Woody being okay with not being played with as much but then takes a turn to show that he is all about what is best for Bonnie.
The writer took a great step in telling the story about dealing with loss. This film tackles a subject that is very hard for people and does it in such a heartfelt way. While the film is more closely centered around Woody rather than the entire gang, it serves the purpose of the story so I love this decision. They also did a great job clarifying a plot hole from the previous movie and it works seamlessly and does not negate or cheapen the previous movies in anyway.
Toy Story 4 is an emotional, heartfelt and a highly enjoyable film for the whole family. Recommended for repeat viewings in theaters with loved ones. Cinema Wise gives Toy Story 4 a 4 out of 5.
