The best part of the Fast and the Furious gets an outing of their own. This is new breath blown yet again into a dying franchise. With all of the drama and bickering that has plagued the cast these past couple years, it’s nice to see something positive come out. Hobbs and Shaw is the best action movie that I have seen in a while and the feeling of this movie will take you back to the 80s and 90s.
The film seems to be like a twisted Lethal Weapon. The chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham is the driving force that binds this film and possibly the entire Fast and Furious franchise. Vanessa Kirby is stunning in this film and I cannot wait to see more films with her in them. Idris Elba gives us another performance and does quite well as a villain. There are also some great cameos which may lead to sequels down the road.
At its core, Hobbs and Shaw is a Fast and Furious film so you are going to get the well-known, beautiful stunt sequences that this franchise is known for. The fight choreography is also very well done and amazing to view.
The Fast and the Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw is an action packed ride filled with great stunts and visuals. This film is the definition of a summer blockbuster and is pure unapologetic fun. This film is good for multiple viewings and maybe even a second viewing in the theater. Cinema Wise gives Hobbs and Shaw a 3.5 out of 5.
