This film is exactly what you expect. It’s an action movie that is just right down the middle. The movie has some great action and the plot is something we have seen multiple times before. However, it is done well and worth the viewing whether or not you are a fan of the series. There is really no need to see the other films in the series to understand this film.
Gerard Butler gives a solid performance and has a great cast of character actors behind him. The film is paced nicely and keeps your attention for the entire duration. Nevertheless, the plot and “twists and turns” are fairly predictable. They are definitely not trying to reinvent the wheel here. There is plenty of action from the opening shot till the end credits.
Angel Has Fallen is a typical right down the middle action film where you get exactly what you expect. No real surprises here. If you are looking to turn your brain off and get away for an hour or two, I would suggest this film. It is full of great action and the entire cast gives a solid performance. However, this is probably a film I would wait to see on your home streaming service. Cinema Wise gives Angel Has Fallen a 3 out of 5.
