This film was filled with so much heart and soul. Going into the theater, I was wondering how it was going to go as none of the marketing made me feel like I absolutely had to see the film. Well, it turns out that Just Mercy is a great film inspired by a true story.
Pacing for the film is very slow and deliberate. The film does a great job of creating the mood for what you are experiencing on the screen. This is coupled with a very strong cast that pushes the film forward. This is another excellent performance from Michael B. Jordan, proving yet again that he is an elite actor in Hollywood. There is also a wonderful supporting cast that includes Brie Larson, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Jamie Foxx.
The film does great with making the hard moments hit home while also driving some of the moments of triumph. This film is a great way to the start of 2020. Just Mercy is a heartfelt and well put together film showing how determination and helping others can lead to wonderful things. Cinema Wise gives Just Mercy a 3.5 out of 5.
