I was finally able to see this film when it was released on Amazon Prime. This was a film that I tried to find tickets to for the limited showing in theaters but they were sold out the second they were posted. I really enjoyed the first film and I enjoy most of Kevin Smith’s films. These characters have been in my life for a long time and it was good to see them on the big screen again.
I was ready to go back on the same road trip that I had already been on with some great jokes peppered in. I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of heart that this film displays without losing any of the silliness that I have grown to love. With this film you really get to see some growth from the characters and the heartfelt moments are palatable. In addition, there are some moments throughout the film that may even bring a tear to your eye. While the story is real chopped down with no bits of fat to it, the film is really driven by the characters and their interactions with each other. The cameos in the film are plentiful. These cameos add to the enjoyment of the overall story and they are used at the right moments to give the audience time to breathe, react or have a moment that the scene is needing.
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is worth multiple viewings and will make you want to go back into the 90’s to fall in love with these characters all over again. Cinema Wise gives Jay and Silent Bob Reboot a 3 out of 5.
